Je Veux Te Voir - Yelle

Ok so I keep reading about this chick everywhere and while I don’t understand french, this chick is actually quite fun to listen to. According to wikipedia “Her rise began when she heard the Girlfriend from the cheeky parisian hip-hop group TTC. Catching the girl-baiting lyrics that Cuizinier was spitting to have a pop back with the song ‘Short Dick Cuizinier’, which is now know as .” She has a full album to be released on September 3rd. And from the look and sound of it, it will be an electro-pop filled party. Video after the jump. Be warned though, sunglasses may be needed.

Nicole Atkins - Photo by Jeremy BaldersonThere are few artists that you instantly fall in love within the first few seconds of listening to them. Nicole Atkins and the Sea manages to do just that with the song “The Way It Is.” Jokingly self-described, in a Rolling Stone interview, as wanting “to sound like a girl group in a David Lynch movie” Nicole Atkins and her band the Sea sound almost exactly like that, if the remaining members of the girl group had died and she carries their souls in her sweeping, hypnotizing croon lightly backed by her band the Sea. More on her incredible sound and links after the jump.

Those funky Sweds never cease to amaze when it comes to music, found this gem on Last.FM. After the incredible second album Deep Cuts which includes the hit Heartbeats, comes We Share Our Mother’s Health from the album Silent Shout. This strange synthpop song has quite a funky beat and chilling vocals, especially when the male vocals come in half way. The music video is equally funky and slightly disturbing. Other greats by The Knife are Heartbeats, Silent Shout, Marble House, We Share Our Mother’s Health (Ratatat Remix) and Christmas Reindeer( which was released for free here. funkiest Christmas song you’ll find).

Praise be to the Digg for occasionally having an awesome music video, this was also how I discovered the bands Ok Go and Mute Math. Although this isn’t the official music video its a fun lip dub done by the crazy people over at Connected Ventures (my dream company I’d like to work for). Anyway the song is quite a fun song to listen to, quite pumped and has some great lyrics. The song is pumped most of the way through, dips into a more mellow tone then ends with the same energy it began with. Other great songs by Harvey Danger: Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo, Authenticity and Cream and Bastards Rise

If you like this then you may like: Scissors for Lefty, The Hives, Ok Go and possibly The Go! Team. More about the band and both videos after the jump.
